January 2017 IPMS Ottawa Contest

These are the entries to the IPMS Ottawa, January 2017, monthly contest.

First Place Winner - Tamiya 1:48 scale RCAF 441 Sqdn MUSTANG from late in WWII



Second Place winner - Trumpeter 1:35 scale Red Army F-8 GAZ-98 AEROSAN armed snowmobile (7.62mm machine gun), circa 1936 by Gorkiy Narkorechflota. The Great Patriotic War paint scheme shows the name "Lembitu" refering to the 13th century Estonian leader who rallied his people against the Gemanic invaders. Built by John Clearwater


Third Palce Winner - Kasserine Pass Battle diorama featuring Tamiya tanks and a Bronco kit of a Fiat staff car.

December 2016 IPMS Ottawa O.O.B. Contest

These are the entries to the IPMS Ottawa, December 2016, monthly contest. This contest was only for OUT OF BOX models. This meant there could be no after-market parts or conversions.

1st place is a magnificent Revel 1:144 scale Airbus A400M done in pre-paint factory colours, circa 2015.

October 2016 IPMS Ottawa Contest

These are the entries to the IPMS Ottawa, October 2016, monthly contest.

1st Place Winner -Nazi German U-47 Type VII U-Boot with scratch built interior. Battle of the Atlantic. Revell 1:100 scale.

Second Place Winner - P-47D flown by Lt Kibble, 56th GS, 61st FS, Halesworth UK, March 1944. OOB Academy 1:48 scale.


Third Place Winner - RCAF CP-122 P2V Neptune ASW maritime patrol aircraft. OOB Hasegawa 1:72 scale.

Morris Mini - splendour in the grass. Tamiya, 1:24 scale.

IJN mini-submarine as used in Pearl Harbour, 1941. added brass wire and chain and rigging. Finemolds, 1:72 scale.
